What are you made up of?

There is a saying which says that “you are made up of the 5 people that you spend your most time with”. They influence your thought process. They influence your decision making, your daily routine, your perception, and your soul.

“I am who I am”, you might say. I am not denying that. Rather, I would agree with you. But who are you? Aren’t you the one who subscribe to the ideas of these five? Aren’t you the one who feels comfortable in their surrounding? Aren’t you the one who enjoys these five’s company?

“The answer to these questions are in affirmative but still, I have my individuality”, you might respond. “Absolutely” is my reply to this. But an individual is again made up of nature and nurture.

Nature sure is an important part of you. But, nurture, your surroundings, your people and your environment is what you learn the most from.

The number is not sacrosanct, five… two.. ten.. no matter where you put your tick, it’s the surrounding. So, keep a good eye on who is around you. That might be the best mirror you can get in this baffling maze we call Life.

I would like to mention a few characters (fictional or real you decide for yourself) I have spent my maximum time with:

First: This guy is an amazing influencer, who can make you agree on his ideas or at least make you think on his lines. An orator you would love to have on your team to get the show running.

Second: He is someone who has shown immense strength in his routine. If you want to learn punctuality and perseverance, you must meet this guy.

Third: She is an amazing thinker, extraordinarily talented person. A pure gem at heart who would make you believe that innocence is after all very much underrated.

Fourth: This guy can make things easier for everyone in the room, that’s his art. Someone with the best temperament thus far.

Fifth: He is an introvert-ly extrovert, who has taught me how to listen and listen well, but never let his mind comes out easily. A rare trait I must say.

Sixth: She is one of those who knows how to make the best out of their networks. She has taught me how to manage good relationships which will last for eternity. But also, not giving a damn about those who don’t wish good for her.

Seventh: The most tidily managed chap I’ve ever encountered. He can Monica run for her money when he comes to managing things. He has taught the importance of taking care of not just yourself but your near and dear ones.

Eighth: He is the one who has taught me how to make your efforts count and irrespective of what others think, get what you want. A rare quality. I must admit.

Ninth: She has taught me how to be happy. I believe the most difficult of the tasks when we look around our lives. She would not give a damn about a thing, she just lives, loves, and stays happy.

I won’t add any more of the anecdotes, although I have plenty, trust me. But then it will defeat the purpose of writing this. These are not Nine people but qualities that I have seen a lot of people around me possessing, to some degree or the other.

No matter what you do, people will be there around you. You don’t have control over a lot of things, but you have absolute control over this. Keep track of people who you spend time with and try to learn as much as possible. And ask, what are you made up of? I'm sure you will find some amazing answers to this question.

If you have enjoyed the article, comment about the five qualities that people around you possess.
Until next time…

PS: This doesn't mean that they don't have any shortcomings. Almost everyone of us has something that we want to change, but that doesn't stop us from learning the good in every being.
